After careful consideration and a review of the latest information regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, The Transportation Alliance has decided to cancel its Spring Conference & Expo, which was scheduled for March 18-20 in Boston, Massachusetts.
This was expected to be our largest Spring Conference & Expo in three years. This difficult decision took into account the latest events, including: The Massachusetts governor has declared a state of emergency; the US Centers for Disease Control has advised against certain travel and large gatherings; and the World Health Organization has declared coronavirus a pandemic.
While we are disappointed that we will not see everyone in Boston, our top priority in this evolving situation is your safety. We are exploring options to move some of the educational sessions online.
The decision to cancel our conference is unusual although not without precedent: The last time we canceled a conference was in 1917 due to gas rations during World War I.
The transportation industry is vital in this challenging moment. It is in the best interest of public health, the health of our members, and the health of our industry that our members continue to serve their communities with professional, safe and reliable transportation.
